IGT is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Game Design Mathematician V to join our successful team in delivering the next generation of premium casino game products. The IGT Game Studios are a collaborative environment delivering industry leading game themes and a wide variety of exciting projects. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, you will work closely with game producers, logic engineers, client engineers, and artists to create math models and game features for original IGT games.
A vital part of this Mathematician's role will be to ensure that every game’s math is not only accurate, but compliant for all target jurisdictions and non-exploitable. Additionally, you may occasionally be called upon to validate outcomes in the field or investigate unusual player sessions. With ever-evolving regulations, new emerging markets, and increasingly innovative game mechanics, a love of details, an “always learning” mindset, and a healthy respect for compliance-related issues are key to your success in this role.

Calculate the probabilities of winning combinations and other aspects of game design.
Prepare the necessary mathematical documentation for the technical approval.
Validate internal math models to ensure they work as intended.
Function as the internal contact person for requests concerning mathematical concepts.
May assist in investigating anomalous sessions as requested by operators.
Keep up to date with the latest competitor games and market trends.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in Game Design.
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or another technical field requiring advanced mathematics up to and including probability theory.
Solid expertise with Excel.
Mastery through VBA preferred.
Strong expertise in Combinatorics, Probability Theory, and Statistics.
Strong ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to various audiences.
Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex problems quickly and effectively.
Must work well with creative conflict in a consensus-based, collaborative environment.
Exceptional ability to create and deliver presentations on complex mathematical concepts to diverse audiences.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $86,538/yr - $220,000/yr. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .
